About Me
Welcome! My name is Kira Schukar. I'm an educator and podcaster based out of Chicago.

As a writer, I bring history, culture, and the arts to a broader audience. My favorite stories to write follow extraordinary moments in ordinary lives, like a student making protest art during the 2020 BLM movement, or the former first lady writing love letters to her partner in the 1890s. These stories deserve to be shared on an accessible, entertaining platform. I'm here to make that possible.
I take a multimedia approach to my research. My goal is to make complex disciplines like queer and feminist theory more accessible for a non-academic audience, whether that's through podcasts, presentations, or other public-facing writing. In the past, my research has focused on Victorian and Modernist literature, film studies, queer theory, geography, and religious studies.
